Job description

Libby is currently working 80% at GESIS-Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Cologne for one year starting on 1 May 2017. Libby will be managing the Secure Data Center team and advancing GESIS initiatives in curating social media data. With her 20% at the UK Data Service, Libby will be leading the Legal/Ethics strand of the CESSDA Research Data Management project and continuing to develop training resources for Big Data and Ethics, and other activities.

Libby is a Manager in the Research Data Management section (Producer Support). This section promotes and provides guidance, support and training on data management, data management planning and data sharing to researchers and data producers, in order to promote good data practices in research and to optimise data sharing opportunities. She has particular expertise in the ethics of re-using data and informed consent. She also develops and delivers training for the User Support and Training section of the UK Data Service, with a focus on secondary analysis of qualitative data.
