Job description

James plays a key role in the Secure Lab provided by the UK Data Service, by assisting users in locating, accessing and using appropriate datasets from the collection, ensuring access conditions are met, and providing advice on dataset content and analysis. He administers strict government guidelines on accessing disclosive data in a secure environment; he is responsible for training users accessing restricted data, and explains their legal responsibilities and statistical disclosure guidelines; he also screens users' outputs prior to their release.
