Hello, my name is Louise Corti. I'm one of the Associate Directors here at the UK Data Archive, based at the University of Essex.

Data created from research are valuable resources and can be used and re-used for scientific and educational purposes.

Here at the UK Data Archive, we have years of experience and expertise in managing and sharing data. More recently, we have begun to train in this area.

Managing your data should be planned at the start of research and should be thought about across the entire lifecycle. Examples include gaining informed consent, describing data well, keeping your data well organised, and making sure it's safely stored.

If managing data can become part of the standard research practice, it need not incur any more time or any more costs.

Here at the Data Archive, we can help guide researchers in learning about managing and sharing their data well.
