Developing Data Management expertise in Research workshop21-Oct-10Kings College, London

The Developing Data Management Expertise in Research workshop brought together digital curators, archivists, data managers and other research staff to discuss current data management support available to researchers at the institutional and national level.

Invited speakers from a range of academic institutions reflected on the challenges faced by data creators when managing data, the strategies that have been/are being adopted by their institutions to address needs, and the support material that they had produced which may be helpful for other institutions wishing to embed data management expertise.

The half day workshop, organised by the JISC-funded Preservation Exemplar at King’s (PEKin) project, took place in the Anatomy Museum at King’s College London from 1-5pm on October 21 2010. It was attended by over 40 digital curators, archivists, data managers and research staff from a range of academic institutions around the UK.
