Challenges facing Labour Market Statistics02-Mar-11BIS Conference Centre, Victoria, London

The labour market in the UK has been through a number of changes with the recent recession leading into a period of recovery.

Measuring the impact of these changes presents challenges. This conference is an opportunity to hear about what the statistics show about what has been happening in the labour market in the UK (and also elsewhere). It provides an opportunity to see analysis from a wide range of people and to discuss future developments in labour market statistics.

The conference is aimed at all users of labour market statistics and will include sessions on:

  • the current state of the labour market
  • earnings and bonuses
  • diversity in the labour market
  • modelling the labour market
  • future challenges facing labour market statistics

Speakers are drawn from a range of government departments and other organisations including Institute for Fiscal Studies, Work Foundation and IDS. Keynote speakers wil be Mark Easton (BBC) and John Philpott (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development).

The delegate fee for the conference is £50, payable in February, and places are limited. If you would like to reserve a place on the conference or would like further information, please contact business.support.team@ons.gsi.gov.uk. You will be notified when your place has been reserved.
