Nesstar meeting in Bergen

Article dated: 14-Mar-08

In early January 2008, Margaret Ward of the UKDA visited the Norwegian Social Science Data Services (NSD) in Bergen for a two-day meeting to discuss the support and development of the Nesstar products. The meeting was attended by the whole of the Nesstar team, and provided an opportunity for the four new team members to meet Margaret and learn more about the support provided by the UKDA.Bergen

The meeting discussed the release of the forthcoming service pack for Version 3.5, and the timetable for the release of the next version, Version 4.0. The service pack will fix a number of bugs reported since the release of Version 3.5 and will be available during the first quarter of 2008. An updated Nesstar Publisher will also accompany this release.

Version 4.0 includes new functionality such as the ability to include multilingual metadata, scheduled publishing, email notification to inform subscribed users of new or updated resources, and improved search functionality. This will be accompanied by a new look Publisher and will be available later this year.
