Data management plan
Relu-DSS supports award holders in the development and implementation of their project's data management plan.
In their data management plan researchers detail:
- the need for access to existing data sources
- the data to be produced by the research project
- the planned quality assurance and back-up procedures for data
- the plans for management and
archiving of collected data
- any expected difficulties in making data available for secondary research (through data archiving) and measures to overcome such difficulties
- who holds copyright and Intellectual Property Rights of the data
- data management responsibility roles within the research team
Detailed information on the management of research data throughout the course of a project and in preparation for data archiving can be found
on the data managing and sharing section of the UK Data Archive web site.
Also the Managing and Sharing Data: a best practice guide for researchers provides an overview of
key data management aspects. All Relu award holders are encouraged to consult this information at the start of their project.
The data management plan form is sent to Relu award holders by the Relu Programme director. Award holders can
email RELU-DSS
with any queries.
Relu-DSS will review and sign off each data management plan for the Relu Programme director.
