Support for Relu award holders
Relu award holders are required to:
- prepare a data management plan at the start of their research project
- be guided by professional codes of conduct in their research, especially regarding ethical issues
- ensure that their research data are properly managed throughout the duration of the research project
- offer datasets and accompanying metadata resulting from their Relu research project to the UK Data Archive for
archiving and digital preservation within three months of project completion
The Relu Data Support Service will help researchers achieve these goals and:
- review all data management plans of award holders and advise them where needed
- provide proactive data management advice and support to Relu researchers through outreach, workshops and web-based guidance
- provide advice and guidance on data archiving
- provide training and advice on key data sharing issues such as research ethics, data confidentiality, data protection and copyright
- together with the UK Data Archive and CEH data centres process all submitted Relu datasets for long-term preservation
- negotiate access to key external data resources on behalf of Relu researchers
