If you would like to download or access our data you have two options

If you are from a UK institution of higher or further education, or your institution uses federated access management

Federated access management is used by us to authenticate users.  Check whether your institution is part of the UK Access Management Federation (UKAMF) and eligible to access our resources through this list of federation members.  

If your institute is listed, log in via the UK federation link on the ESDS login page using your local username and password.

If this is the first time you have used our resources you will be required to complete a short registration form.

Once registered you will be able to download our data.

If you are from an institution not using federated access management

First check the list of federation members to ensure your institution is not a member.

If it is not listed you need to apply for a UK Data Archive username and password to download data.

With these you can log in via the UK federation link on the ESDS login page, selecting the UK Data Archive as your home organisation.

If this is the first time you have used our resources you will be required to complete a short registration form.

Once registered you will be able to download our data, but this will not give you access to data from the
ESRC Census Programme or to ESDS International macrodata.
